
Classic Banana Bread Recipe

Classic Banana Bread Recipe
Ingredients
- 3 large ripe bananas (about 300g peeled)
- 120g unsalted butter, softened
- 150g granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 190g plain flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- Optional: 60g chopped walnuts or chocolate chips

Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and line a 9x5-inch loaf pan.

Mash the bananas in a large mixing bowl and set aside.

Cream butter and sugar using a paddle attachment.

Add egg and vanilla. Mix until just well combined. Do not overmix.

Add in mashed bananas and mix well.

In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

Add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture and gently fold until just combined.

If using nuts or chocolate chips, fold them in now.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and level the top.

Bake for 55–60 minutes, or until a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean.
